Local Dealers Keep New Yorkers in Need Covered

Donate a winter coat at a franchised new car dealership today!

For the sixth straight year, the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association is teaming up with the New York Cares Coat Drive, to help thousands of New Yorkers make it through the coldest months of the year. Since GNYADA’s participation in the annual coat drive began, area dealers have collected more than 37,000 coats, making the Association New York Cares’ largest single corporate donator.

The Association’s work with New York Cares gives franchised new car dealers in the metro area an opportunity to help some of the least fortunate people in their communities. Local dealers readily volunteer their showrooms to promote this important cause and encourage their staffs and customers to contribute. Energy is already building around this year’s initiative, as registered dealers have been promoting the 2017 coat drive on their websites and across their social media accounts.

"New car dealerships have an outstanding reputation for supporting good causes on an individual basis, but it is important to remember how effective they can be as a group, too," said GNYADA President Mark Schienberg. "Initiatives like the New York Cares Coat Drive allow us to harness the collective power of our membership to bring about change where it’s needed most.”

Last year, with more than 110 dealerships participating, GNYADA collected an astounding 11,035 coats. This year, we are thrilled to see that our members’ commitment and enthusiasm are only continuing to grow. As of today, we have already exceeded last year’s record number of registered dealerships, putting us well on our way to achieving a new all-time high donation volume.
