New Car Dealers Driving Away the Cold

New York Cares
Thanks to 140 franchised new car dealers who participated in this year’s New York Cares Coat Drive, the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association collected almost 10,000 coats for people and families in need. This number of drop-off locations is GNYADA’s all-time high since the Association began teaming with New York Cares six years ago.
As they have done throughout the years, dealers went above and beyond in encouraging their customers, their staffs, and their local communities to look through their closets and set aside coats to donate to this year’s drive. Dealers’ efforts included displaying decorated drop-off bins in their showrooms, promoting the drive on their websites, as well as creating videos and social media posts.
New York City Public Advocate Letitia James and State Assemblyman Ed Braunstein came to GNYADA’s Center for Automotive Education and Training to help load the donated coats into a 26-foot delivery truck. Both the Public Advocate and the Assemblyman stated that these donations are particularly important given this winter’s record-low temperatures in the New York region.
The Association thanks all the dealers who participated in the 2017-2018 coat drive, helping the Association remain New York Cares’ single largest corporate coat donor. GNYADA also thanks Freeman Decorating for providing extra helpers as well as the truck used to deliver the coats to New York Cares.
