11th Annual GNYADA Golf Outing

$110K Raised in Support of Automotive Education

The Association’s 11th annual charity golf event at the Old Westbury Golf & Country Club was another huge success, with a record 421 attendees on hand for a great day of golf and giving back to local communities. When all was said and done, $110,000 had been raised for automotive student scholarships, to be distributed through the Center for Automotive Education & Training.

As part of the evening program, Chairman of the Board Nick Toomey awarded five GNYADA Automotive Education Scholarships — each worth $5,000 — to five students from Lincoln Technical Institute, who are also veterans of the U.S. military.

"Our vision is to ensure that the retail auto industry work force in greater New York remains strong, focused, and innovative in future generations. Tonight’s five recipients are not just examples of our vision, they are American Heroes," said Mr. Toomey. "While no one act can truly thank the brave men and women who have served this country faithfully, we can at least provide them with greater opportunity here at home."

The action-packed day concluded with thirty-eight prizes being handed out among the lucky raffle winners; prizes included New York Mets tickets, Apple Watch Sports, GoPro Cameras, an Apple iPad Air 2, and much much more. Ken McGee from Capital One Auto Finance took home the grand prize, a Chronomat Breitling watch worth $25,000. The tournament winner was Port View Leasing.
