More than 1.5 million New Yorkers live below the poverty line, and over 130,000 neighbors are in shelters. A winter coat isn’t just a garment—it’s safety, dignity, and proof that the community cares.
Last year, New York Cares distributed 48,000+ coats to neighbors in need. With the size and strength of the automotive community across Metro New York, we can help push that number even higher this season.
How It Works?
Throughout November and December, participating dealerships serve as public drop-off sites, collecting new and gently used winter coats for adults and children.

Choose your public drop-off hours. New York Cares will list your store as an official location.

Set up a donation area with provided signage and collection box.

Bag and count coats as you go so we can track impact.

Schedule a pickup—email Jennifer Lepurage at jennifer@gnyada.com to arrange collection. You must have 2 or more bags to schedule a pickup before the drive ends.

We handle distribution with New York Cares across the five boroughs and Long Island Cares and Volunteer NY (Westchester).
